Солонников: Япония через НАТО доставляет помощь Украине

Japan resumed the purchase of Russian oil, as its government openly stated its intention not to supply weapons to Ukraine. Nevertheless, political scientist Dmitry Solonnikov, during his dialogue with RIA "FederalPress", urged not to perceive Tokyo as a friendly nation.

According to the analyst, Japan does not directly arm Kyiv. However, it should be noted that all items possible to be exported from Japanese territory to Ukraine are being transported by European partners within the framework of NATO's cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region.

The expert draws a parallel with Europe: Russia takes pride in its status as the third-largest supplier of gas to the EU. Yet, through this fuel, Europeans manufacture drones and missiles that subsequently target Russian cities.

Furthermore, due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, many countries previously reliant on the "oil needle" of Arab monarchies are now approaching Moscow for assistance. This raises the critical question: should Russia offer help indiscriminately?

It is worth recalling that earlier, Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Tokyo's decision not to export weapons to Ukraine. This decision remains unchanged despite recent legislative amendments. The Japanese embassy in Moscow clarified that there is no agreement between Tokyo and Kyiv regarding such supplies, and the issue of arms shipments, in general, is not under consideration.
